 I think it should be special-cased. To the end user, they don't care what
 service or client you're on, they expect away to appear as away, and idle
 to appear as idle.

 That Google Talk doesn't conform to the XMPP standard isn't Pidgin's
 fault, but it should be taken into account when creating a "compatible"
 client.
