Comment:

 That debug log indicates that pidgin is in fact not sending any status
 text on XMPP (and assuming I am reading things correctly not on MySpace or
 MSN either). But as I said before, I can think of no reason for that to be
 happening if you are actually entering a status message other than because
 of the interaction with some plugin(s).

 I'm attaching a simple perl script, if you could load it and then change
 status such that it doesn't work and pastebin the debug window output
 again I would appreciate it. (I don't know if it is going to tell us
 anything or not, we'll see. You may also need to install
 [http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Scripting%20and%20Plugins#WhydoesntmyPerlpluginshowupinthePluginsdialog
 ActiveState perl] if you don't have it already to get the plugin to work.)
