 I can explain why 10 minutes are unreasonable for me. I use pidgin in mode
 "always hide conversations" to avoid being disturbed by any popup windows.
 So if I get a message, only tray icon says me about it. But I have to go
 out of my computer for a long time sometimes and if I don't check a
 message for these 10 minutes I will lost it at all. It is very annoying
 function to drop conversations with all notifications after 10 minutes.
 Timeout should be configurable or at least it shouldn't drop any
 notifications about events.
