 under Vista SP2, when trying to start the program, I ge tthe "program has
 stopped working" dialog box.

 in dedugging I get:

 Unhandled exception at 0x76f2d45f in pidgin.exe: 0xC0000005: Access
 violation writing location 0x00000003.

 pidgin.exe has triggered a breakpoint

 I will rung pidgin debug mode later otnight.
