 I sometimes you AIM for texting people that have phones since it's free
 but I have noticed, probably since I first started using Pidgin for the
 purpose (2.X.X) that if I have an away message set up and a person replies
 to a text message I sent to their phone, my away message never makes it to
 them. Here is an example with some changes to the conversation to respect
 privacy:

 (2:04:20 AM) Lacy: Yeah, I should be able to make it tomorrow around noon.
 (2:04:20 AM) James <AUTO-REPLY>: I'm asleep right now but please leave a
 message. -James
 (2:04:20 AM) Unable to send message: Not logged in

 This happens every time; I have _never_ seen a case where it has worked
 and a search of my logs over the last few years seems to support that.
