 I have a patch which installs perl stuff in {{{$plugindir/perl}}}, but
 it's more of a proof-of-concept that coincidentally works for me, than a
 fix. ;-)

 If I have time, than I'll also look into this...

 (I also have a patch, which allows libpurple to be used from a script, but
 that needs cleaning up, which needs time... ;-)
