 I guess it should also only execute the latter case for
 JABBER_MESSAGE_NORMAL, JABBER_MESSAGE_CHAT(, JABBER_MESSAGE_OTHER
 depending on how that other ticket turns out), as I think those are the
 situations under which we will end up displaying custom smileys.
