Comment:

 We have no interest in supporting this ourselves. Twitter had an XMPP
 interface but I think they shut it down. We would much rather such an
 interface be used. However the ThirdPartyPlugins#AdditionalProtocols page
 lists a microblogging protocol plugin which sounds like it might support
 what you want.
