 The debug log doesn't provide anything useful.

 Do you have PHP installed and in your Path?

 Can you think of anything you may have installed at the time that Pidgin
 started doing this (I'm pretty confident that this is caused by some
 incompatible library in your system path)?

 Try opening a cmd console and clearing the PATH (`set PATH=`), then
 running pidgin from that console (`cd "Program Files\Pidgin"`, `pidgin
 -d`).  Does that work?
