 I agree completely that when we are able to use an official GTK+ mechanism
 we should do so, and would fully welcome a patch to move us to !GtkTooltip
 when we are able to use it (assuming we can replicate the current tooltips
 with it). Something I still think we probably can't (though I will fully
 admit to having only glanced briefly at the !GtkTooltip documentation).

 Do we believe that the !GtkTooltip implementation does not suffer from any
 of these tooltip lingering issue?
