 Fixed in pango 1.22? seems fixed for me.

 please try to download Pango        1.22.4  binaries from here
 http://www.gtk.org/download-windows.html

 close pidgin, copy the dlls from the bin dir in the zip file to
 C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\bin

 or wherever  you have gtk installed.

 start up pidgin again. gdi use doesnt grow anymore when clicking around in
 log viewer
