Comment:

 What do you mean you can't "seem to copy text"? Presumably you mean that
 pasting it somewhere else does not work? Does that include pasting it into
 the input area of a pidgin conversation window? If you send yourself an IM
 in pidgin with a URL can you click the link and have it launch your
 browser correctly (or do you get an out of memory error)?
