Hello,
I sometimes have to send large chunks of text over IM and the 'message too
long' error is pretty annoying and so is the behaviour (it just throws the
message away and spits the error message).
Couldn't it be made a little friendlier?
My suggestions would be:
If I have a message that is too long, it would be nice if pidgin came up
with a messagebox that said:
1) 'The message you're trying to send is too long. Do you want to split
it?'
And it should then split the message according to the maximum length and
send multiple messages according to the length of the original message (if
this is possible).
OR
2) 'The message you're trying to send is too long. The extra text has been
deleted.' And it should leave the message in the textbox where you type
the message and just cut it according to the maximum length. (I don't know
what the maximum length is, and I'm tired of deleting one row at a time
until I'm under the maximum length).
I know i can just send such chunks of text over E-Mail, but it would be
more comfortable if it could be somehow done over IM and I think this
would also be a nice addition to pidgin.
Thank you!
