 So far I have seen this bug in all Pidgin versions, including 2.5.8. ICQ
 buddy is duplicated, either each one in two separate groups or two buddies
 in one group. Usually I send someone an authorization request and choose
 group to add contact. Then I receive his request and the Pidgin asks me to
 add this buddy to contact list (this is, I think bug, why ask to add
 buddy, who is already there?). It doesn't matter If I choose yes, or no,
 sometimes I get one buddy twice or more times... Sometimes It is after
 pidgin restart. And If adding new contact It may happen that one of
 duplicate contacts is offline and auth. pending (like it wasn't in list),
 while other duplicate contact(s) are normally online. Usually I solve
 duplicate contacts problem by stopping the Pidgin, backing up blist.xml
 and then removing duplicate entries from it. And last finding - sometime I
 can get rid of duplicate contacts by sending them to the same group,
 sometime It doesn't work and I can even make metacontact containing two or
 duplicate contacts! This is clearly long time ignored bug.
