 You can save statuses and then delete them from the Saved Statuses dialog
 (available from the "Saved..." menu item in the selector.

 Statuses you enter into the status selector directly are "cached" and not
 "saved". Therefore they don't show up in the "Saved Statuses" dialog and
 must be deleted (if you really need to delete them, which really you
 shouldn't need to do) by hovering over the status in the status selector
 dropdown menu and hitting the Delete key.

 I have no earthly idea what you think the portable version has to do with
 saved statuses.
