Comment:

 You are complaining that new message windows created as a result of
 receiving a message from your buddies is maximized and given focus? Do new
 message windows you create start maximized? If so pidgin isn't doing
 anything wrong here. Your window management environment is, but you can
 tell pidgin to start new conversation windows hidden (or minimized on
 Windows) if you prefer.
