 Don't know. I did not ask them.
 I would also note that some my buddies are shown in the buddy list
 properly.
 e.g., 166182939. You may compare its contact data with 173555887 to see
 what is different. Now 173555887 is offline but its contact name is
 garbled in the buddy list anyway (and deleting its alias to recreate it
 does not help either).
 And also the same is reproduced with official Pidgin 2.7.7 for Windows.
