Comment:

 We don't really have any plans to offer a service of our own.   Pidgin's
 mission has always been to be a client for various other services.

 I assume that you would be thinking of the "Pidgin service" as being able
 to communicate with your buddies on all their various networks using one
 account, which simply isn't possible.  Even if there was a server that
 consolidated the accounts, you would still need to keep your old accounts
 because we can't magically connect several different services together
 without an account on each service.  Stuff like Meebo is probably the
 closest to something like this that you'll get.
