 Copy/paste this text in a YM conversation:

 [http://pidgin.im/ My favorite IM app]

 After pasting it, Pidgin will show "My favorite IM app", hyperlinked to
 http://pidgin.im. This differs from the official Yahoo Messenger client,
 which will strip the URL.

 Send that IM to your YM contact. In the scrollback buffer, the same "My
 favorite IM app" hyperlinked to http://pidgin.im will appear, even though
 the recipient only got http://pidgin.im. This is again misleading.

 A suggested solution would be to treat hyperlinks for protocols that don't
 support text+link as Trillian does: immediately upon pasting, change the
 text to the link title, then the link URL between parentheses:

 `My favorite IM app (http://pidgin.im)`
