Comment:

 Pidgin doesn't group all the accounts for the same person under one name.
 Maybe I should have said it this way - The ability to associate different
 contacts (from different social networks) under one name. Then I will not
 have such a long buddy list and accessing contacts will be easier - and
 the list tidier.

 And if you got your own reasons for not detecting remote Pidgin clients
 then this point goes off the topic. (But this is still a nice idea I
 think...)
