 This is done intentionally. Pidgin does not allow more than 30 smileys in
 a single message, and more than 300 smileys during an entire conversation.
 Showing too many smileys in a single conversation can be costly (CPU-cycle
 wise), which is why this is done.

 So, not really a bug!
