 Nice. I was going to post a comment to your blog but didn't want it to get
 lost in the noise. The issue with the different certs is that you picked
 just one of them when you downloaded it. It should not be a problem when
 the correct intermediate certificates are available to pidgin. They have
 been added to the certificates we bundle in
 [cd236baf6d00f3e1561a40974ce1828b793ea187] but are not provided correctly
 by the MSN servers at the moment. Adding those certificates to the ca-cert
 directory that pidgin uses and restarting should fix the problem.
