 When I sign in to my account, all my buddies from that account appear to
 have just signed in, which is clearly false.

 This persists for 10 seconds, forcing me to wait if I want to see their
 real status.

 I know Pidgin has been like this for a long time, but I can't think of any
 value the behavior provides that is worth the annoyance.
