 Names have stopped decoding properly in older versions of Pidgin too, so
 it's google who has changed something.

 On the other hand, if I right-click that hex id in conversation history
 panel or chatters list panel, then click info, Pidgin properly shows info
 and jabber id for a person, so I wonder if there is [[BR]]
 a) a way to auto-translate that ids in chat window to real jabber
 ids[[BR]]
 b) if not, then it should be possible to add that ids to buddy list and
 merge them into real ids as usual, since that ids seem to be constant for
 a buddy[[BR]]
 c) or at least add aliases for that ids directly in chat window
