 If you're administrator of an ejabberd server, you should be able to send
 broadcast messages to all of your users via ad-hoc command. Just cliick on
 Accounts > whatever at example.com (XMPP) and then you should see a rather
 long list of commands; Several of these will send a broadcast message to
 all of your users. Note that this will only work if you are the admin. I
 don't know whether other servers have such a feature as well or not.

 users of a server), see here: #3216

 As for "just send a message to a buddy rather than opening a
 conversation", I don't know exactly what you mean. Can you explain how
 this feature works in Psi?
