 If I set my account password to:

 hotdogs123

 … then try to log in via libpurple, I get an authentication error.

 Once I shorten the password to:

 hotdogs1

 … it works as expected.

 Perhaps this relates to #3031?

 Observed in the latest Pidgin and Adium versions.
