 Two things:
 - Yahoo is just one of many services Pidgin supports.
 - Yahoo has always been one of the less widely-used services and that is
 even more so the case today.

 So just because Yahoo is (partly) broken (for how big of a portion of
 users, I don't know), doesn't make the whole development an "exercise in
 futility".
