 Sorry, I guess I read the diff backwards. Yes, you can add a new UI op in
 a major version and mark the old one deprecated. * Just make sure to call
 the old UI op as well, if it is present.

 * This assumes there is either padding in the struct or the structure is
 being allocated entirely in our code and never that of a plugin, so in
 this case, you may not be able to. (I haven't really analyzed this case.)
