I quit out of Pidgin (as I have done every day for the past week or two),
but tonight it didn't want to quit properly. The buddy list window
closed, but a bit later, I heard the sound of a buddy logging in. I had
 to kill the process manually.
After that, I can't open Pidgin anymore. The buddy list window doesn't
appear anymore until I ctrl-c in the xterm from which I started pidgin, or
 if I kill the process.
I moved ~/.purple away to see if there was something stale in there, but I
still don't get the buddy list.
I'm running OpenSUSE v11.1 with the latest updates. (Correction, the KDE
updater just popped up and told me that there are 5 security and one
 additional recommended updates available)
 Debugging output attached...
