 Are you sure?  My guess is it's the code in win Pidgin that detects if a
 key was pressed, and changes the focus on the window.

 Unless you are saying that even that is a GTK thing that changes focus...
 I will try to test it out.  It will have to be something that changes
 focus, I guess, as if I click in the "type your text" buttom window in
 Pidgin to leave the cursor there, this problem doesn't happen as no cursor
 focus transfer takes place.  I will look at the link you gave me, however.
