 I know this has been set to wontfix but I would like you to reconsider.
 Even Mozilla.org has recognized the need to bypass NetworkManager through
 the browser.offline key in Firefox configuration. I do understand that you
 want to keep Pidgin as portable as possible, especially through the
 various GNU/Linux distributions but adding a checkbox to allow users to
 effectively use Pidgin situations where NetworkManager doesn't help can't
 be that difficult to accept.
